Material and Construction
The KONG Squeezz Goomz Football is constructed from durable rubber designed to withstand moderate chewing and repeated fetch sessions. The raised nubs are molded into the surface to create texture that massages gums and helps clean teeth as dogs chew. The mixed textures provide tactile variety that sustains interest and encourages ongoing engagement. The internal squeaker is embedded within the rubber to provide auditory stimulation while remaining protected during normal use. The football shape offers a unique grip profile that supports fetch, tug, and carry play. This is a moderate-duty construction suited for moderate chewers. For dogs with strong or aggressive chewing habits, KONG’s black rubber Extreme line is recommended instead.
Texture, Size and Play Duration Guidance
The exterior is firm with raised nubs and mixed textures, providing satisfying resistance and tactile variety for moderate chewing. The medium size is appropriate for medium breed dogs. For moderate chewers, expect moderate to extended engagement across multiple play sessions. The combination of chewing, squeaker, and fetch play styles adds variety that sustains interest over time. Play duration and toy longevity will vary based on individual chewing intensity and play habits.
Play Style and Functional Use
As a Chew Toy: The raised nubs provide a satisfying textured surface for dogs to gnaw on, delivering gum massage and gentle dental cleaning during chewing sessions. The mixed textures add tactile variety that keeps dogs engaged longer than single-texture chew toys.
As a Fetch Toy: The football shape creates an unpredictable movement pattern when thrown, adding excitement to retrieval sessions. The grippy rubber exterior makes it easy for dogs to pick up from the ground.
Squeaker Engagement: The built-in squeaker delivers auditory rewards during play, activating natural hunting and play instincts and sustaining engagement across sessions.
Safety, Usage and Care Guidance
Supervision is recommended during initial use to assess chewing behavior and ensure appropriate interaction. Inspect the toy regularly for excessive wear, tears, or pieces that may be loosening. Discontinue use if the toy becomes significantly worn or damaged to prevent ingestion of rubber pieces. This toy is not recommended for aggressive or destructive chewers. Always ensure the toy size is appropriate for your dog’s mouth size.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Rinse with water and wipe clean with a damp cloth as needed. Allow to air dry completely before returning to use. Avoid submerging the toy for extended periods, as this may affect the squeaker. Regular cleaning helps maintain hygiene and extends the toy’s usable life.
