Ingredients and Formulation
100% Natural Catnip (dried leaves and flowers). No additives, fillers, or synthetic fragrance. Cosmic Catnip is grown to maximize the concentration of nepetalactone – the naturally occurring compound in catnip responsible for the characteristic behavioral response in cats. Pinching or crushing the dried leaves and flowers releases the stored aromatic oils for maximum scent delivery.
Usage, Application, and Frequency Guidance
Sprinkle directly onto cat toys, scratchers, bedding, or other enrichment surfaces. Alternatively, place a small amount on a mat or flat surface and allow the cat to roll in or sniff the loose catnip directly. For toy stuffing, fill catnip pouches or refillable toy compartments as needed. Reapply when the cat’s interest in the treated surface or offering begins to decline. Store cup in a sealed bag or container between uses to preserve potency.
Functional Use
Training and Behavior – Stimulates instinctive play and hunting behavior in catnip-responsive cats. Encourages engagement with designated toys and scratchers and supports redirection of scratching behavior to appropriate surfaces. Provides environmental enrichment for indoor cats.
Safety, Usage, and Storage Guidance
100% natural and non-toxic – safe for cats to sniff, roll in, and ingest in normal quantities
Not all cats respond to catnip – response is genetically determined and affects approximately 50-70% of cats
Kittens under 6 months typically do not respond to catnip – sensitivity develops with maturity
Store in a sealed bag or container in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve potency and freshness
Keep out of reach of children
Offer in moderation – excessive catnip exposure can temporarily reduce sensitivity over time
