Description
Built for Wet, Cold Weather – The Kurgo North Country Coat
The Kurgo North Country Coat is engineered for dogs that don’t slow down when the weather turns. Constructed with a 1050D ripstop outer shell and a 190 gsm fleece inner lining, this coat delivers water resistance and warmth in a single athletic-cut design. Whether you’re heading out for a morning walk in the rain or an evening hike in dropping temperatures, this coat is built to keep up.
A two-way zipper provides easy access to your dog’s harness or collar without removing the coat, and two side adjustment points with Nifco quick release buckles allow for a secure, customized fit. Back darts create a tapered silhouette that moves with your dog rather than against them. When daylight fades, the removable LED light and reflective piping keep your dog visible on the road or trail.

Material and Design Breakdown
The 1050D ripstop outer is a heavy-duty woven fabric known for its resistance to tearing and water penetration, making it well-suited for outdoor use in wet conditions. The 190 gsm fleece inner provides a dense, insulating layer that retains warmth without adding excessive weight or bulk. The two-way zipper runs along the back, allowing you to open it from either end to clip a leash to a harness or collar without fully removing the coat. The Nifco quick release buckles at the two side adjustment points make fitting and removal fast and easy. Back darts are sewn into the design to create a tapered shape that follows the natural contour of a dog’s body, reducing excess fabric that could restrict movement or cause discomfort.
Sizing and Fit Guidance
This listing is for the XSmall size in black. The athletic cut and back darts are designed to provide a close, tapered fit. For the best fit, measure your dog’s back length (base of neck to base of tail) and chest girth before selecting a size. The side adjustment buckles allow for some customization once the coat is on. If your dog is between sizes, consider their chest measurement as the primary guide.
Care Instructions
Remove the LED light before washing. Machine wash on a gentle cycle or hand wash. Air dry only – do not tumble dry. Removing the LED before washing protects both the light and the coat’s construction.

FAQ
Can I attach a leash while my dog is wearing this coat?
Yes. The two-way zipper allows you to open the coat at the back to access your dog’s harness or collar, so you can clip a leash without removing the coat.
Is this coat waterproof or water-resistant?
The coat is water-resistant. The 1050D ripstop outer repels water but is not rated as fully waterproof.
How does the LED light work?
The LED light is a removable strip that attaches to the coat for nighttime visibility. It must be removed before washing.
Can the collar be adjusted for extra coverage?
Yes. The collar can be flipped up for additional neck and chin protection in harsher conditions, or worn folded down for a standard fit.
How do I wash this coat?
