Constructed with a tennis ball on top and a squeaker ball beneath, both covered in reinforced nylon fabric, it delivers dual-texture engagement and auditory feedback across multiple play styles. Material & Construction
The Wubba Finz Blue XL is built around two stacked balls — a tennis ball on top and a squeaker ball beneath — both encased in reinforced nylon fabric. The nylon covering is stitched to withstand the pulling and shaking forces generated during vigorous play with large breeds. Long fin-shaped tails extend from the base of the ball construction, attached with reinforced stitching at connection points. The squeaker is housed within the lower ball for consistent activation. The blue color and fin design are integrated into the nylon fabric. This is a moderate-duty toy — durable for interactive toss, tug, and shake play, but not engineered for dogs who aggressively chew through fabric coverings.
Texture, Size & Play Duration Guidance
The nylon fabric exterior has a firm, slightly textured feel that provides grip during tug and carry. The dual-ball interior gives the toy a solid, rounded body with satisfying weight distribution. The fin tails are flexible and create visual and tactile contrast during play. At 0.62 lbs — the same weight as the pink XL, and lighter than the pink Large (1.26 lbs) — this toy has a substantial feel well-suited to large breed dogs. The tennis ball interior provides bounce on hard surfaces, adding unpredictability to fetch. Play duration will vary based on your dog’s energy level — rotate with other toys to maintain interest over time.
Play Style & Functional Use (Multi-Purpose)
The Wubba Finz Blue XL performs across three primary play styles. For fetch, toss using the fin tails as a grip point — the dual-ball construction gives the toy satisfying flight and bounce on retrieval. For tug-of-war, hold the fin tails while your dog grips the nylon-covered ball body for controlled interactive play. For shake play, the fin tails flap and whip dramatically when your dog grabs the body and shakes, engaging natural prey-shake instincts. The squeaker activates on contact throughout all play styles, providing consistent auditory feedback. This toy is not intended as a primary chew toy or for unsupervised aggressive chewing.
Safety, Usage & Care Guidance
Supervise your dog during play, particularly during vigorous shaking and tugging. Inspect the nylon fabric covering regularly for tears, fraying, or areas where the ball components may be becoming exposed. Remove and replace if the fabric becomes significantly damaged to prevent access to internal ball components. This toy is appropriate for interactive toss, tug, and shake play — it is not recommended for dogs who aggressively chew through fabric coverings during unsupervised use. Select toy size based on your dog’s actual size — extra-large is designed for large breed dogs. Note: the tennis ball component absorbs water; allow the toy to dry thoroughly after any wet play. Store in a clean, dry location when not in use.
Cleaning & Maintenance
Wipe down with a damp cloth or rinse with water after play. Air dry completely before returning to use — allow extra drying time if the tennis ball has absorbed moisture. Do not machine wash, as this may compromise nylon fabric integrity and stitching. Inspect after each cleaning for signs of fabric wear or ball exposure. Replace when the nylon covering shows significant damage.
