Why Pet Owners Choose This Toy
Reinforced nylon construction provides strong resistance during tug-of-war without the fraying risk associated with rope or plush toys
Dual tails on both ends create natural grip points for both handler and dog during tug sessions
Tail design makes the toy easy to pick up from the ground and provides a throwing grip for fetch play
Dual tails produce dynamic movement during shaking play, engaging a dog’s natural chase and prey response
At 0.6 lbs, the XL size provides appropriate heft for long-distance throws suited to large breeds
Multi-use design supports tug, toss, and shake play without requiring separate toys for each style
KONG brand construction reflects consistent quality standards in pet toy manufacturing
Material & Construction
The Tugga Wubba is constructed from reinforced nylon, which provides strong structural integrity during tug-of-war and resists tearing better than standard plush or rope materials under moderate-to-heavy play. The dual tails extend from both ends of the toy body, serving as functional grip points for tugging, throwing, and shaking. The nylon material is not intended for aggressive chewing — it is designed for interactive tug, toss, and shake play. Regular inspection for fraying or structural damage is recommended, particularly at the tail attachment points.
Handle Structure & Interaction Use
The dual tails are the primary functional feature of the Tugga Wubba. During tug-of-war, the handler can grip one tail while the dog grips the opposite tail or the toy body, creating a balanced tug interaction without requiring the handler to hold the toy body directly. For fetch, the tails provide a natural throwing grip that allows for long-distance tosses suited to large breeds. During shaking play, the tails whip and move dynamically as the dog shakes the toy, creating movement patterns that engage natural prey drive behaviors. At 0.6 lbs, the XL size is proportioned for large dogs who need a toy with enough weight and size to feel substantial during play.
Safety, Usage & Care Guidance
Supervise play sessions, particularly during vigorous tug-of-war with large, powerful dogs. Inspect the toy regularly for fraying, tearing, or damage at the tail attachment points and along the nylon body. Remove and replace the toy if significant structural damage is observed. This toy is not appropriate for aggressive chewers. Select toy size appropriate to your dog’s breed and strength — this XL size is designed for large dogs and power players.
Cleaning & Maintenance
Clean with mild soap and warm water. Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue. Air dry completely before returning to use or storage. Inspect nylon material and tail attachment points during each cleaning for signs of wear.
