Material and Construction
The KONG Scrumplez Bunny is constructed with an irresistibly soft plush exterior designed for comfort and tactile appeal. The signature feature is the sliding ear design — long ears that pass through the head of the toy, creating an unexpected movement and resistance during tugging that adds a novel play dimension. The Bunny character’s naturally long ears make this feature especially prominent and intuitive for dogs to engage with. A squeaker is integrated into the body to provide auditory feedback during mouthing and compression. This toy is light duty and is best suited for gentle chewers who engage in interactive play rather than sustained or aggressive chewing.
Texture, Size, and Play Duration Guidance
The ultra-soft plush exterior is comfortable for carrying, mouthing, and cuddling. The sliding ear feature adds a tactile and functional novelty element that differentiates this toy from standard plush designs. The medium sizing is appropriate for mid-size breeds that benefit from a toy scaled to their grip and jaw. Play duration will vary based on the dog’s energy and play drive. The combination of sliding ear novelty, squeaker sound, and soft cuddle comfort typically supports varied and extended engagement across different moods and activity levels. This toy is not designed for sustained or aggressive chewing.
Play Style and Functional Use
As a multi-purpose dog toy, the Scrumplez Bunny supports several distinct play behaviors. The sliding ear feature creates an unpredictable tug dynamic that rewards interactive play between dog and owner. The long ears provide a natural grip point for tugging and carrying. The soft plush body supports fetching and carrying. Gentle chewing is accommodated by the soft construction. The squeaker activates during mouthing and compression, providing auditory reinforcement. The ultra-soft exterior transitions naturally into a comfort and cuddle toy during rest periods. Each feature can be engaged independently or in combination depending on the dog’s preference and energy level.
Safety, Usage, and Care Guidance
Moderate supervision is recommended during play, particularly for dogs that tend to chew through plush materials. Inspect the toy regularly for signs of wear, torn seams, or damage to the sliding ear mechanism and squeaker. If the toy becomes damaged, discontinue use and replace it. This toy is not intended for aggressive chewers. Select the appropriate size based on your dog’s breed and weight to reduce the risk of accidental ingestion of toy components. Store in a dry location when not in use.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Spot clean with a damp cloth and mild soap as needed. Allow the toy to air dry completely before returning it to your dog. Avoid machine washing or submerging in water, as this may affect the internal squeaker and sliding ear mechanism. Inspect seams and the ear feature after each cleaning for signs of wear.
