Teethe, Stuff, and Freeze — A Chew Toy Built for Small Puppies in the Teething Phase
The KONG Puppy Tire is a stuffable chew toy built on KONG’s exclusive puppy rubber formula — specifically developed to soothe teething gums and support appropriate chewing behavior in small breed puppies. Modeled after the popular KONG Tire for adult dogs, this puppy version uses a gentler rubber compound suited to developing baby teeth. The tire’s stuffable inner track creates a mental challenge that keeps puppies engaged, and the toy can be frozen for extended enrichment and additional teething relief. Sized for small puppies.

Material and Construction
The KONG Puppy Tire is constructed from KONG’s exclusive puppy rubber formula — the brand’s gentlest rubber compound, developed specifically for the sensitivity of puppy baby teeth and teething gums. The tire shape features a continuous inner track channel that runs through the toy’s body, creating a stuffable groove that accepts soft treats, kibble, peanut butter, and KONG-compatible puppy treats. The rubber compound is flexible and soft to the touch, providing a satisfying chew texture without placing excessive stress on developing teeth. Made in the USA from all-natural rubber.
Texture, Size, and Play Duration Guidance
The toy has a soft, pliable rubber feel that is noticeably gentler than KONG’s adult dog formulas. The small size is proportionate for small breed puppies and provides a manageable grip and carry experience for little mouths. Play duration varies based on stuffing — an unstuffed KONG Puppy Tire provides moderate chew engagement, while a stuffed or frozen version significantly extends solo play sessions. Freezing the stuffed toy further prolongs engagement and delivers additional soothing relief during peak teething periods.
Play Style and Functional Use
As a chew toy, the KONG Puppy Tire’s gentle rubber formula provides a safe, structured outlet for teething behavior in small breed puppies. The inner track channel functions as a puzzle element — puppies must work to extract treats from the groove, creating a mentally stimulating interaction that goes beyond simple chewing. Stuffing the inner track with soft treats, kibble, or peanut butter transforms the toy into a treat-dispensing enrichment tool. Freezing the stuffed toy extends engagement and provides a cooling, soothing effect on teething gums. Suitable for indoor use.
Safety, Usage, and Care Guidance
Moderate supervision is recommended during play, particularly during early introduction. The small size is designed for small breed puppies — select the appropriate size for your puppy’s breed and weight. Inspect the toy regularly for signs of wear or tearing, and replace if the rubber shows significant damage. This toy is formulated for puppies only — transition to an age-appropriate KONG rubber formula as your dog matures into adulthood. Do not use with adult dogs, as the puppy rubber formula is not rated for adult chewing strength.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Top-rack dishwasher safe for convenient cleaning after stuffed use. Alternatively, hand wash with warm water and mild soap, rinse thoroughly, and allow to air dry completely before restuffing or returning to use. Regular cleaning is recommended when used as a food-stuffing toy to maintain hygiene.
