Material and Construction
The KONG Old Glory Ball with Hole is made from KONG Classic natural rubber — the same compound used across KONG’s core product line. The rubber is firm enough to deliver a strong, lively bounce while remaining durable through repeated fetch and moderate chewing. The hole through the ball alters its bounce trajectory on landing, creating unpredictable movement that encourages continued chasing. This is a moderate duty toy — built for fetch play and moderate chewing, but not designed for aggressive or sustained chewing sessions.
Texture, Size, and Play Duration Guidance
The ball has a smooth, firm rubber surface that is easy for small dogs to grip and carry. The small size is appropriate for small breeds and provides a manageable ball diameter for throwing and retrieving at shorter distances. Play duration depends on the dog’s energy level and fetch drive — most dogs engage in extended outdoor sessions. Monitor the toy between throws if your dog tends to chew rather than retrieve.
Play Style and Functional Use
This is a fetch and bounce toy. Throw or roll the ball across an open surface and allow your dog to chase, retrieve, and return it. The hole design causes the ball to bounce at unpredictable angles on landing, extending the chase and keeping dogs alert and active. Best used in open outdoor spaces such as yards or parks where small dogs have room to run freely.
Safety, Usage, and Care Guidance
Monitor your dog between throws — this toy is designed for fetch, not extended chewing sessions
Inspect the ball regularly; replace if cracking, tearing, or significant wear is visible
Ensure the ball size is appropriate — small is designed for small breeds to prevent any risk of ingestion
Use in open outdoor spaces to allow safe running and retrieval
Store in a cool, dry location when not in use to preserve rubber integrity
Cleaning and Maintenance
Rinse the ball with clean water after outdoor use to remove dirt and debris. For deeper cleaning, hand wash with warm water and mild soap, rinse thoroughly through the hole opening, and allow to air dry completely. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or extreme heat, which can degrade natural rubber over time.
