Material and Construction
The KONG Comfort Tykes Fox is constructed from an ultra-soft plush fabric exterior with a reinforced inner lining that provides light structural support. Embroidered details on the fox character add visual definition and tactile interest without compromising the soft surface feel. The removable squeaker is low-pitched and produces a grunting-style sound, designed to be less startling than high-pitched squeakers — and can be removed entirely if preferred. At 0.21 lbs, the toy is lightweight and easy for small dogs to carry and manipulate.
Texture, Size, and Play Duration Guidance
The toy presents a soft, fluffy feel throughout, making it well-suited for dogs that prefer gentle mouthing, carrying, and snuggling over aggressive chewing. The SM sizing is proportioned for small breeds, ensuring the toy is manageable and appropriately scaled. Engagement duration will vary — some dogs use plush toys primarily for comfort and companionship, while others engage in short, active play bursts. This toy is not designed for extended or aggressive chewing sessions.
Play Style and Functional Use
As a plush comfort toy, the KONG Comfort Tykes Fox is designed for light play and snuggling. The squeaker provides interactive stimulation during play, while the soft, fluffy body supports comfort-seeking and instinctual bonding behavior. It is best suited for gentle chewers and dogs that carry or cuddle their toys rather than destroy them. Active supervision is strongly recommended, as plush toys are not designed to withstand aggressive chewing or tearing.
Safety, Usage, and Care Guidance
Active supervision is required during all play sessions — plush toys are not suitable for unsupervised use with dogs that chew aggressively
Inspect regularly for loose seams, torn fabric, or squeaker accessibility — replace if the toy shows significant wear
Remove the squeaker if your dog attempts to extract it, to prevent ingestion risk
Ensure SM sizing is appropriate for your dog’s breed and play style before use
Store in a clean, dry location when not in use
Cleaning and Maintenance
Surface clean with a damp cloth as needed. Check the manufacturer’s care label for specific washing instructions. Avoid machine washing or high-heat drying methods that may damage the plush fabric, embroidered details, or inner lining. Allow to air dry fully before returning to your dog.
