Material and Construction
The HedgeHug is made from soft plush fabric with a crinkle interior that produces sound during handling and play. The exterior is designed for gentle mouthing rather than sustained or aggressive chewing. This is a light-duty plush toy best suited for dogs with calm to moderate play styles. The hedgehog-inspired silhouette adds visual novelty while the soft build prioritizes comfort and sensory engagement.
Texture, Size, and Play Duration Guidance
The outer surface is soft and pliable, making it comfortable for small dogs to carry and mouth. The XS size is suited for toy breeds and dogs under approximately 10–15 lbs. Play duration will vary based on individual dog behavior — most dogs engage in short to moderate sessions of cuddling, light chewing, and batting. This toy is not designed for extended or aggressive chew sessions.
Play Style and Functional Use
As a plush comfort toy, the HedgeHug is best suited for gentle play, cuddling, and light interactive sessions. The squeaker encourages fetch-style interaction and paw engagement, while the crinkle layer sustains interest between squeaks. It also serves well as a comfort object during crate time or rest periods for dogs that seek tactile reassurance.
Safety, Usage, and Care Guidance
Supervise all play sessions — this is a light-duty plush toy not designed for aggressive chewing
Inspect regularly for loose seams, torn fabric, or squeaker exposure; replace if damaged
Ensure the XS size is appropriate for your dog — do not use with medium or large breeds
Store in a clean, dry location when not in use
Remove from play if stuffing or internal components become accessible
Cleaning and Maintenance
Wipe clean with a damp cloth for light soiling. For deeper cleaning, hand wash with mild soap and warm water, then air dry completely before returning to your dog. Avoid machine washing or high-heat drying methods that may damage the plush fabric or internal crinkle layer.
