Lightweight at 0.20 lbs — easy for medium dogs to carry, fetch, and reposition during play.
Satisfies stick-chasing and chewing instincts in a structured outlet that redirects natural behavior appropriately.
Material and Construction
The ChewStix Stick is made with real wood composite material that replicates the look, feel, and aroma of a natural stick. The key safety distinction: this toy is engineered to flake naturally during chewing rather than splinter into sharp shards, making it a meaningfully safer option than raw outdoor sticks. The surface features grooves and rounded edges that provide consistent chewing engagement while reducing sharp contact points. Bacon scenting is infused into the material to entice and sustain engagement. This is a moderate-duty chew toy appropriate for average chewers in medium breeds.
Texture, Size, and Play Duration Guidance
The surface is firm with a grooved, rounded profile that provides steady chewing resistance without harsh rigidity. At 0.20 lbs, the medium format is lightweight and easy for mid-sized dogs to grip, carry, and chew comfortably. Engagement duration is typically extended due to the bacon scent and textured surface; duration will vary based on individual chew strength and interest level. Dogs with higher chew drive may progress through the toy faster than light chewers.
Play Style and Functional Use
Chew Toy: The grooved stick surface and rounded edges deliver sustained chewing resistance and gum stimulation, satisfying stick-chewing instincts in a safer, structured format. Fetch Toy: The stick shape is easy for medium dogs to retrieve and carry, making it a natural fit for fetch sessions between chewing bouts.
Safety, Usage, and Care Guidance
Supervise play sessions, particularly during initial introduction to the toy.
Inspect regularly for excessive wear or significant material reduction — replace when substantially degraded.
Not recommended for aggressive chewers or dogs that consume non-food materials rapidly.
Confirm the medium size is appropriate for your dog’s breed and chewing behavior before use.
The flaking behavior is by design; however, monitor to ensure your dog is not ingesting large quantities of material.
Store in a clean, dry location when not in use.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Wipe clean with a damp cloth after each use. Avoid soaking or submerging in water, as prolonged moisture exposure may affect the wood composite material and scent infusion. Do not use high-heat cleaning methods.
