Why Pet Owners Choose This Toy
Tuffut Technology reinforced lining in the limbs adds meaningful durability to the highest-stress tug points on the toy.
HuggleFleece body delivers an exceptionally soft feel that dogs return to for comfort snuggling between active play sessions.
Knotted limbs provide firm, rope-like grip points for tugging, carrying, and shaking — inspired by the Hugglehounds Knotties bestseller line.
Dual-material construction — tough where it needs to be, soft where it counts — makes this a standout in the plush tug toy category.
Charming sheep character design with farm animal styling adds visual appeal for owners while the functional form drives play behavior.
Squeaker adds auditory stimulation during biting and squeezing, sustaining interest across play sessions.
Compact 9″ x 5″ x 3″ size is well-proportioned for small breeds and easy to grip, carry, and toss independently.
Material and Construction
Sweet Pea the Sheep is built on a deliberate dual-material construction system. The body is made from HuggleFleece — an ultra-soft plush fabric chosen for its comfort, texture, and tactile appeal. The limbs are constructed with Tuffut Technology reinforced lining, concentrating durability exactly where tug stress is highest. The limbs are knotted, a construction technique borrowed from the Hugglehounds Knotties line, which creates firm, rope-like grip points without adding hard materials. This targeted approach — Tuffut for limbs, HuggleFleece for the body — results in a light-duty to moderate-duty durability rating appropriate for small dogs that engage in tugging, shaking, and light chewing.
Texture, Size, and Play Duration Guidance
The HuggleFleece body is exceptionally soft — noticeably softer than standard corduroy or polyester plush toys — providing a premium comfort feel for dogs that use toys for snuggling and companionship. The knotted limbs offer a firm, textured contrast that dogs find satisfying to grip and chew lightly. At approximately 9″ tall x 5″ wide x 3″ deep, the small size is appropriate for small breeds and provides a manageable form for carrying, tugging, and shaking. Play duration will vary based on individual dog behavior — dogs that engage in comfort play, light tugging, and squeaky toy interaction will experience extended engagement.
Play Style and Functional Use
As a tug toy, Sweet Pea’s knotted limbs serve as the primary interaction points — providing a firm, grippable structure for owner-led tug sessions with small dogs. The squeaker activates on compression during biting and squeezing, adding an auditory reward layer. The soft HuggleFleece body supports comfort snuggling and carrying between active play sessions. This toy is well-suited for dogs that transition between high-energy tug play and calm comfort behavior, making it a versatile addition to a small dog’s toy rotation.
Safety, Usage, and Care Guidance
Moderate supervision is recommended during tug and chewing play. Inspect Sweet Pea regularly for seam wear, knot integrity, and squeaker exposure. Replace the toy if the fleece body or limb construction is significantly compromised. Ensure the toy size is appropriate for your dog — small breeds are the intended fit. Store in a clean, dry location when not in use to maintain fleece quality.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Spot clean or wipe with a damp cloth as needed. If machine washing, use a gentle cycle with mild detergent and low-heat dry. Avoid high-heat drying methods that can damage the HuggleFleece fabric or deform the squeaker. Allow the toy to fully dry before returning it to your dog.
