Material and Construction
The Claude Lobster Slappies toy is constructed from soft plush fabric with a flexible, lightweight build suited for small dogs. The interior houses a squeaker mechanism and crinkle material layered within the body of the toy. This light-duty construction is designed for interactive play rather than sustained chewing. The plush exterior provides a soft, comfortable grip during shake and toss sessions.
Texture, Size, and Play Duration Guidance
The toy has a soft, pliable feel well-suited for small breeds. At approximately 9 x 5.5 x 2 inches, it is sized appropriately for small dogs to handle comfortably. Play engagement is typically short to moderate in duration, depending on the individual dog’s interest level and chew drive. Dogs with stronger chew tendencies may require closer supervision to prevent material ingestion.
Play Style and Functional Use
This is a plush toy designed for comfort-driven and sensory play. The squeaker activates on compression, encouraging repeated interaction, while the crinkle material adds an auditory layer that sustains attention. The Slappies format — a flat, floppy body — makes it easy for small dogs to grab, shake, and carry. Best used for supervised shake, toss, and fetch sessions rather than unsupervised chewing.
Safety, Usage, and Care Guidance
High supervision is recommended during all play sessions
Inspect the toy regularly for signs of wear, torn seams, or exposed squeaker components
Discontinue use if the toy becomes damaged to prevent ingestion of internal materials
Ensure the toy size is appropriate for your dog — intended for small breeds only
Store in a clean, dry location when not in use
Cleaning and Maintenance
Spot clean with a damp cloth for routine maintenance. Hand washing with mild soap is recommended for deeper cleaning. Allow the toy to air dry completely before returning it to your dog. Avoid machine washing or high-heat drying methods, as these can damage the plush fabric, squeaker, and crinkle material.
