Material and Construction
The Prickly Pawt is constructed from Power Plush — a soft, premium-grade plush material — reinforced with an extra layer of durable mesh fused to the interior. This layered build provides more resistance than standard plush toys while maintaining a soft, approachable feel. The construction is classified as light duty, appropriate for light chewers and dogs who engage in gentle to moderate play rather than aggressive chewing.
Texture, Size, and Play Duration Guidance
The exterior is soft and flexible, making it comfortable for small dogs to grip, carry, and mouth. At 8.5″, the toy is sized for small breeds. Engagement duration will vary based on the dog’s interest in treat-seeking and sensory stimulation — most sessions will range from short to moderate. Dogs with higher chew drive may lose interest faster or require closer supervision.
Play Style and Functional Use
This is primarily a puzzle toy and plush toy hybrid. The treat-hiding function rewards curiosity and encourages problem-solving behavior. The squeaker and crinkle elements add auditory stimulation that sustains engagement during play. It also functions as a comfort toy for dogs that enjoy carrying or snuggling with plush items between active play sessions.
Safety, Usage, and Care Guidance
High supervision is recommended during all play sessions, especially with treat-hiding use
Inspect regularly for signs of wear, torn seams, or exposed mesh — replace if damaged
Ensure the toy size is appropriate for your dog; do not use with aggressive chewers
Remove treats before unsupervised storage to prevent spoilage or ingestion risk
Store in a clean, dry location when not in use
Cleaning and Maintenance
Spot clean with a damp cloth as needed. Avoid machine washing or high-heat drying methods, as these can damage the plush material, internal mesh, and squeaker components. Inspect seams after each cleaning.
