Material and Construction
The Sour Scratch is constructed from Power Plush — a soft, premium-grade plush material — reinforced with an extra layer of durable mesh fused to the interior. This layered build provides more resistance than standard plush toys while maintaining a soft, approachable feel. The construction is classified as light duty, appropriate for light chewers and dogs who engage in gentle to moderate play rather than aggressive chewing.
Texture, Size, and Play Duration Guidance
The exterior is soft and flexible, making it comfortable for small dogs to grip, carry, and toss. At 5″ x 2″ x 6.25″, the candy figure shape is well-suited for small breeds. Engagement duration will vary based on the dog’s interest in squeaker and crinkle stimulation — most sessions will range from short to moderate. Dogs with higher chew drive may require closer supervision.
Play Style and Functional Use
This is primarily a squeaker toy and novelty plush toy. The built-in squeaker rewards interaction and encourages repeated engagement. The crinkle material adds an auditory layer that sustains interest during play. The compact candy figure shape also makes it suitable for toss and carry play for small breeds.
Safety, Usage, and Care Guidance
Moderate supervision is recommended during play sessions
Inspect regularly for signs of wear, torn seams, or exposed mesh — replace if damaged
Ensure the toy size is appropriate for your dog; do not use with aggressive chewers
Store in a clean, dry location when not in use
Cleaning and Maintenance
Spot clean with a damp cloth as needed. Avoid machine washing or high-heat drying methods, as these can damage the plush material, internal mesh, and squeaker components. Inspect seams after each cleaning.
