Description
Arm & Hammer Nubbies Dental Chews hold 6.5 oz to 52.8 oz of baking soda-powered dental treats made with sodium bicarbonate and calcium. The nubbed texture scrubs plaque and tartar from tooth surfaces while dogs chew. Available in Mint, Peanut Butter, and Chicken flavors across eight size options, from a single 8-count bag to a 139-count value bucket. If your dog resists toothbrushing, a daily chew is widely recommended by veterinarians as a practical alternative for home dental care.
What Makes Arm & Hammer Nubbies Different
Most dental chews rely on shape alone to clean teeth. Nubbies combine a nubbed surface texture with sodium bicarbonate — the same active ingredient in baking soda toothpaste — to help neutralize odor-causing acids and scrub tooth surfaces as dogs chew. Calcium supports enamel strength during daily use.
The formula uses dehydrated chicken, peppermint, or peanut butter flavor to make the chew palatable for picky dogs. Ingredients include tapioca starch, glutinous rice flour, and wheat gluten — a softer base than many hard biscuit-style chews, making them suitable for dogs at all life stages. For a complete oral hygiene routine, pair with our dog dental chews for small breeds.

Who This Is For
Nubbies are sized for dogs of all breeds and weights. The 6.5 oz and 7 oz single bags work well for small breeds under 25 lbs — Chihuahuas, Shih Tzus, Maltese, and Dachshunds — where portion control matters. The 52.8 oz value buckets are designed for larger breeds like Labrador Retrievers, Golden Retrievers, German Shepherds, and Boxers, or for households with two or more dogs that go through chews quickly. Browse our full range of pet treats for complementary training and reward options.
The softer chew texture makes these appropriate for senior dogs with worn teeth or puppies still developing their bite. If you’re also managing anxiety around treat time or travel, see our guide to the best calming treats for dogs in 2025.
