Description
Crystal-clear water makes everything in your aquarium look better, and Seachem Laboratories Purigen is built to help you get there. This 500 ml organic resin filter is a premium synthetic adsorbent that Seachem describes as unlike any other filtration product. Rather than a mixture of ion exchangers or adsorbents, it is a unique macro-porous synthetic polymer that targets the soluble and insoluble impurities clouding your tank.
Why aquarists keep Purigen in their filter:
Removes soluble and insoluble impurities from water, which is how it helps polish your tank to greater clarity.
Works at a rate and capacity Seachem says exceeds all others by over 500 percent, the brand’s headline performance claim.
Controls ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates by removing the nitrogenous organic waste that would otherwise release these harmful compounds.
Has minimal impact on trace elements, so it focuses on waste rather than stripping your water bare.
Significantly raises redox, according to Seachem, as part of its effect on overall water quality.
Polishes water to what Seachem calls unparalleled clarity, for a cleaner-looking display.
Darkens progressively as it exhausts, giving you a built-in visual cue for when it is spent.
Is easily renewed by treating with bleach, so you can refresh and reuse the same resin.
Designed for both marine and freshwater use, making it flexible across different setups.
The 500 ml size suits larger systems or keepers who want a generous amount of resin on hand.
Purigen is sold by volume, and this 500 ml portion gives you plenty to put to work in your filtration. Place it where water flows through, watch for the resin to darken as it loads up with waste, then renew it with bleach as Seachem directs to bring it back into service. Because it is renewable, one batch can keep working through cycle after cycle, which makes this larger volume a practical choice for a busy or well-stocked tank. The progressive darkening also takes the guesswork out of timing, since you can see at a glance how much life the resin has left. From a hobbyist name aquarists trust, Purigen helps you keep ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates in check while polishing your water so your fish and other aquatic life enjoy a cleaner, healthier home.
