Material and Construction
The GURU AdjustAChew is built around a patent-pending twist mechanism that adjusts to securely hold treats of varying sizes during chew sessions. The bone ends are constructed from Chew Perfect — GURU’s proprietary non-toxic nylon wood bacon-scented material engineered for a dog’s safety and chewing satisfaction. The surface features GURU’s exclusive Clean & Polish texturing, which creates friction against teeth and gum lines during active chewing. Durability is classified as moderate duty, appropriate for medium dogs engaged in regular structured chew sessions.
Texture, Size, and Play Duration Guidance
The AdjustAChew offers a firm, structured feel with textured bone ends that provide tactile stimulation during chewing. The medium size is proportionate for medium dog breeds with appropriate jaw strength. Play duration is well-suited for longer sessions — the two-stage design (treat holding followed by nylon chewing) naturally extends engagement beyond a single-phase toy. Individual chew duration will vary based on treat size and the dog’s chew intensity.
Play Style and Functional Use
Treat Holding: The patent-pending twist mechanism adjusts to grip treats securely, allowing dogs to work at the treat without it dislodging prematurely — supporting focused, reward-based chew engagement. Nylon Chewing: Once the treat is consumed, dogs can transition to the Chew Perfect bone ends for continued chewing satisfaction. Dental Support: The Clean & Polish surface texturing on the bone ends provides passive dental benefit throughout the chew session, complementing regular veterinary dental care.
Safety, Usage, and Care Guidance
Moderate supervision is recommended, particularly during treat-loading and initial use. Inspect the twist mechanism and bone ends regularly for significant wear, cracking, or structural damage. Ensure treats used are appropriately sized for the medium variant and your dog’s breed. Replace the toy if the mechanism or bone ends show damage that could affect safe use. Store in a clean, dry location when not in use.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Wipe clean with a damp cloth after each use or hand wash with mild soap and warm water. Rinse the twist mechanism thoroughly to remove treat residue. Allow to air dry completely before reloading or returning to your dog. Avoid high-heat drying methods that may affect the nylon material’s structural integrity.
